The iron foundry in Torgelow can look back on over 260 years of tradition and specializes in large castings such as rotor hubs and machine carriers for wind turbines. The company generates around 90% of its turnover with castings for the renewable energy sector. The Torgelow iron foundry was taken over by the Silbitz Group in 2021 and has been operating under the name Silbitz Group Torgelow GmbH since then.

The Torgelow foundry produces highly complex castings in a weight range from 20 tons to over 100 tons for the offshore wind power industry. In addition to the production of series castings for the onshore and offshore wind power industry, the Silbitz Group Torgelow focuses on the production of castings in the fields of power generation and machine and drive systems. The company, which specializes in grey and nodular cast iron, manufactures to customer specifications and is now one of the largest hand-moulding foundries in Europe.

With the integration of the Torgelow iron foundry, the Silbitz Group is the only European foundry group with direct access to the sea.
